My Life

The life behind the work.

I'm Gautam, and I've always worked at the intersection of design, business, and technology. It started in college, where I ran my own creative agency for 30-plus clients across India while finishing a degree in Visual Arts and Mass Communication. That early taste of real business problems is what pulled me into human-computer interaction, and then into Bangalore's startup scene, where I spent nearly three years as a founding designer at a deep-tech startup, wearing every hat to take the product from zero to one.

Today I'm in Leeds finishing an MSc in Entrepreneurship and building micro-SaaS on the side. Right now that's Stylr, an AI virtual try-on and styling plugin for fashion e-commerce. Whether I'm designing an AI workflow or competing as a finalist at a national hackathon, I'm a little obsessed with precision and performance (a habit years of Formula 1 will give you). In the end, I'm less interested in designing interfaces than in building systems that solve real business problems.

Moved to the UK for a master's

I left home to study at the University of Leeds, less for the degree itself and more to put myself around the sharpest people I could find and learn how good teams really work.

I love building products

I've shipped a string of SaaS products, mostly B2B. Some found their first users, some quietly didn't. But every one taught me the same thing: for a solo founder, distribution is everything. Building the product is no longer the hard part. Getting it in front of the right people is.

Hooked on hackathons

I've led teams to runner-up finishes at national hackathons back in India. I keep going back for the same thing: a real problem, a good team, almost no time, and barely any resources.

Turning a founder's idea into something real

Turning a founder's idea into something real

I joined a deep-tech startup the day the founders had little more than a concept, and spent three years as founding designer and acting PM turning that idea into an actual product people use. On the side, I shoot, freelancing as a cinematographer for international brands when a project needs a different kind of eye.

Behind the lens

A different kind of eye.

When I'm not designing, I'm usually behind a camera. Stills, some short film work.

As a founder

Things I've built.

Not every idea stays in Figma. These are the ones I took all the way: built, launched, and learned from.
